Our agency is involved in preparing and organizing SexTech New York, the first sextech hackathon in the U.S! The one-day event brings together like-minded people to collaborate on creating sextech products.
“The SexTech Hackathon is open to all, but aims to support female-identified leaders of this field and drive further innovation,” said Mr. Yaroshenko, who is the event’s main organizer, and also co-founder of Fantasy, the dating by fantasy and lifestyle app. “Sextech is any technology designed to enhance human sexuality and the human sexual experience.”
Unlike other hackathons that may require coding expertise, SexTech New York is open to all skills and experience levels. Participants will innovate, and depending on the expertise of the team, try to create a working prototype of the product. At the day’s end, participants will pitch a product or simply a vision of what they are going to create – as a presentation, website, app, prototypes, etc. Organizers emphasize that porn and entertainment are not welcomed.
“We believe this emerging field of technology is not only driven by women-identified technologies and thinkers but also presents an opportunity to change the cultural conversation and attitudes toward female sexuality,” added Mr. Yaroshenko. “We welcome all interested in elevating the voices and perspectives of women in sextech, whether you’re a designer, developer, entrepreneur, project manager or even therapist or sexologist.”
Other SexTech speakers and mentors include Bryony Cole, The Future Of Sex podcast; Kris Jandler, Co-founder & CMO of Emojibator; Laura Kingsley of ThoughtWorks; Mal Harrison, Director of Center for Erotic Intelligence; and Bryan Stacy, Co-founder & CEO Biem Health.
SexTech Hackathon will be held Saturday June 10, 2017, 10am – 8pm
Location: ThoughtWorks, 99 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10016
